I'm back...I think

I took a break from the Bird's Nest Blog because I started a facebook page and was unable to manage both at the time. I am going to give it try now. Summer and Fall classes have been going great.

There will be a Nativity class on November 21 at 2:00. You can create a nativity that includes at least 3 figures with a creche. Colored slip can be used to add a splash of color. A clear glaze will then be applied right before firing in an electric kiln. This class is designed for all levels and will sure to be a fun experience! I hope to see you there!

Kenneth and Tiah's Wedding

I have been working on floral projects and a wedding arch design. I was responsible for 12 boutonnieres, the bridal bouquet, the unity candle stand, the chair bows/floral bundles along the aisle, and the wedding arch. The bride changed her mind about the decor 1 week before and the threat of rain required use of tents at the last minute. In 3 evenings and 1 morning I managed to handle the job.

Classes starting NOW

It was wet and cold today during Festival of the Arts but I enjoyed meeting other artists and the few who braved the weather.

Classes are starting the week of March 29th.

Come "Clay" with Me at Bird's Nest Studio!

I am offering clay classes for school age children, Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. Basic handbuilding techniques will be taught through a variety of projects that will inspire and motivate children of all ages.

You can pre-register for clay classes Saturday, March 20th, outside the Emporium and Artistic Impressions in downtown Woodville. Don't forget to visit the Heritage Village for Festival of the Arts.

An open house will be held Saturday, March 27th, between 2:00pm-4:00pm at Bird's Nest Studio. You can meet Jennifer, tour the studio, explore clay, and learn more about ceramic arts.

Bird's Nest Studio is located at 203 East Bluff, Woodville Texas. (Next to Candy Cleaners and Timberman's Supply) The studio is open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4:00 for classes. I am usually there Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and most weekends. Feel free to give me a call at 200-9710.
